Johnnie Gabriel Coming To Winnwood

Winnwood’s Lecture Series With Johnnie Gabriel

Winnwood’s lecture series is proud to present to you, lunch with  Johnnie Gabriel! Oh yes, the cousin of Paula Dean is coming to Winnwood Retirement Community. Johnnie will be here October 12th. Johnnie has a talent for baking delicate desserts and southern cooking. She is presenting a fun and interactive program called Playing the Glad Game!

Who is Johnnie Gabriel?

Let me take a moment to tell you about Johnnie Gabriel. Johnnie is a brilliant southern cook! She began her baking career by baking cakes in her home to bring in supplemental income during the recession. As her business took off, Johnnie left her day job and opened a famous local restaurant here in Marietta, Ga., Gabriel’s Desserts.  Johnnie has appeared on QVC’s cooking shows to share her talent. If you have eaten at Gabriel’s, you have seen her around. Johnnie still takes the time to visit her customers by making rounds to each table personally thanking them for their business.

Gabriel’s Desserts

Gabriel’s Desserts is more than a bakery, Garbriel’s has expanded into a restaurant with southern food and freshly baked desserts made from scratch. If you haven’t eaten there, you are missing out.   This famous local restaurant has extended in the metro Atlanta area. Gabriel’s is now at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and Johnnie Gabriel has partnered with Dever Woods to open Gabriel’s at the Old Mill in Acworth, Ga. Johnnie’s cooking is making an impact across Atlanta.

Johnnie’s Books

Johnnie has published three cookbooks, How To Cook Like A Southerner, Second Helpings, and Cooking In The South.  Johnnie published these books to share her famous southern recipes and her famous desserts. Winnwood Retirement Community will offer her book for purchase following the luncheon.  We all love made from scratch desserts and now we’ll be able to make them!
