Who Made the Zucchini?

Two of the many reasons I like cats is that they are unpredictable and independent. I like dogs too, just not inside the house. All Gods’ little furry creatures seem to help us keep smiling. I have seen the number of residents with pets grow astronomically at Winnwood over the past 10 years.

Well, OK. One of my cats is named is Lucky.  If y’all remember, I found him at the Teem house at Winnwood after Hurricane Ivan in 2005. Have you ever heard the expression “finicky as a cat”?  Well, there is a picture of Lucky in a bow-tie next to the definition!!  Last night he was doing his famous “Lucky roll” where he flops down in front of me to get my attention as I walk by . OK, so the fur ball is hungry. I thought,  What do I have for him to eat tonight? I made him the mother of all platters: leftover pulled chicken, sea bass, bacon mashed potatoes and some zucchini that I had leftover from Winnwood. (I know you people think I am crazy. Perhaps.)  I placed the platter on the floor and walked off to do laundry. I came back into the kitchen about 20 minutes later, looked down at the platter and was flabbergasted! Chicken still there, check! Sea bass still there, check! Bacon mashed potatoes still there, check! ALL THE ZUCCHINI, GONE!!!! Check, Check Check! Wow! Never heard of a cat eating zucchini before??? What happened next was even funnier. I located Lucky on his cat tree-house sleeping like a baby and it even looked like he had a smile on his face. The point is you never know what will make our furry friends happy and content. But, when they’re happy, we’re happy.

Have a great week!
