Veterans’ Day is a very special day here at Winnwood. It is our chance to honor all those who served and are serving our great country. Here are a few pictures from our Veterans’ Day Service.

Mr. Golden, Marine Corps Veterans, opened the Service with patriotic piano music.

Speakers at our Service included Major Ed Gray, Major Glenn Suppe, and President of the Winn Resident Council Ellen Hart.
Veterans Day Prayer and Meditation ~ by Susan Kramer
You gave for peace with courage
That families may be free
So children could grow strong
And safe they’d ever be.
In giving for the sake of peace
You may have suffered loss
Your body may still show its wounds
From taking up the cause.
May remembrance of your time away
Your sacrifice for peace
Spur us on to strive more strongly
For freedom, that there’ll be release.
From causes that sent some away
To fight that we may freely live
With gratefulness we thank you, veterans,
For all you gave and give!
Thank you to all who have served and are serving.
At Winnwood, we are so lucky to be living in such a beautiful part of the country. On Nov. 5, we decided to just take a drive and enjoy the scenery. We started our day with a scenic drive up 41 and then stopped by the
Allatoona Dam.

Then, we head over for a delicious lunch at the Fruit Jar Cafe in Cartersville.

Enjoying Lunch!
After Lunch, we drove back by the Cooper Iron Works. Then, it was up and over Red Top Mountain and back home to Winnwood. We really couldn’t have asked for a nicer day to see some of Georgia’s beautiful countryside.

Cooper's Furnace was built in the 1830's
This year’s Halloween Party was FRIGHTFULLY Fun!
It was WIZARD OF OZ…Winnwood Style! (We’re not in Kansas anymore.)

After a delicious lunch of Mummy’s Mini Sliders & Witches Brew, it was time for the Catwalk Fashion Show (A Black Catwalk- of course!)…
After the Catwalk, it was time for the Employee Costume Contest…

The Scarecrow Walks (or should I say stumbles) Away with the Prize!
Then it was time for the Resident Contest. Although, everyone looked great and there were definitely some good costumes, the First Place Prize just had to go to Emily. Enjoy a few of our favorite photos.
